FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Most residential pools in the South Bay should be professionally serviced once per week. The warm climate, coastal air, and year-round swimming season mean debris, sanitizer levels, and water chemistry need consistent attention. Skipping visits can lead to algae growth, chemistry imbalance, and equipment problems that are more expensive to fix than to prevent.
Every weekly visit includes testing and balancing water chemistry, skimming or netting the surface, brushing tile, steps, ladders, and lights, vacuuming as needed, emptying baskets as needed, and a visual equipment inspection. A picture and service report is emailed to you after every visit so you always know your pool was taken care of.
Water that is out of balance — even when it looks clear — can etch pool plaster, cause tile scale, corrode metal equipment, and create conditions where algae establishes quickly. Proper water chemistry protects your pool finish, extends equipment life, and supports safer swimming water. It is the foundation of good pool care and the most important thing a pool service company does on each visit.
Yes. A picture and written service report is emailed to you after every completed weekly visit. The report includes tasks completed, equipment observations, and technician notes. You will always know your pool was serviced and what was done.
Yes. Saltwater pools still require weekly water chemistry testing because the salt system only handles sanitizer production — it does not control pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, or conditioner. We test and manage all parameters and keep the chemistry balanced to protect the salt cell, pool finish, and equipment.
If you are not satisfied with the quality of our service within the first 90 days, we will refund every dollar you paid in service fees. No forms, no fine print, no hassle. We stand behind our work completely and want every customer to feel confident choosing Magic Blue Pools.
Weekly pool service in the South Bay usually costs about $150 to $350 per month. Prices can vary based on pool size, equipment, debris, chemical needs, and the condition of the water. Whether you pay at the low or high end of that range, one of the most important parts of pool care is proper water chemistry. A pool can look clean and still have poorly balanced water that can damage heaters, pumps, salt cells, plaster, and other pool surfaces. Over time, poor water balance can lead to expensive repairs and shorter equipment life. That’s why Magic Blue Pools puts water chemistry at the center of every weekly service. We focus on keeping your water properly balanced, clear, and swim-ready while helping protect your pool and equipment. You also get reliable weekly service and a photo and written report after every visit, so you know your pool was serviced and what was done.
Call or text (424) 999-7393 or submit a custom quote request online. We will review your pool details and follow up to discuss your service options. We do not use a one-size-fits-all Magic Blue Pools rate because every pool is different — we review yours and provide a custom price based on the actual service needs.
A green pool is almost always caused by algae growth triggered by a drop in sanitizer levels. This can happen when chlorine burns off faster than expected due to heavy sun, warm water, high bather load, or a missed service visit. Once algae establishes it multiplies quickly and can turn a pool green within 24 to 48 hours. Consistent weekly professional service with proper water chemistry is what prevents algae from establishing between visits. Magic Blue Pools adjusts chemistry on every visit specifically to keep sanitizer levels where algae cannot take hold.
It depends on what was done during the visit. If no chemicals were added you can swim right away. For standard weekly service where chemistry was adjusted it is typically safe to swim within a few hours once the water has had time to circulate and distribute evenly. If the pool was shocked we will include a note in your service report letting you know to wait 24 to 48 hours before swimming. When in doubt wait a few hours or reach out and we can advise.
Skipping a week allows sanitizer levels to drop, water chemistry to drift out of balance, and debris to accumulate. In warm South Bay weather that is often enough time for algae to begin establishing — particularly during summer months or after a heat spell. A pool that looks clear on Monday can be visibly green by Friday without proper weekly chemistry maintenance. Catching up after a skipped week often requires extra chemicals, additional brushing, and sometimes a full green pool recovery treatment that costs significantly more than a regular weekly visit. Consistent weekly service is always less expensive than corrective treatment.
Pool cleaning typically refers to the physical tasks — skimming the surface, brushing walls and tile, and vacuuming the floor. Pool service includes cleaning but also covers water chemistry testing and balancing, equipment inspection, basket emptying, and a service report documenting what was done. The chemistry work is what actually protects your pool long term. A company that only cleans without testing and adjusting water chemistry is leaving the most important part of pool care unaddressed. At Magic Blue Pools water chemistry is the foundation of every visit — not an afterthought.
No. Magic Blue Pools operates on a month-to-month service agreement. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation penalties. We earn your business every week through reliable service and consistent results, not by locking you into a long-term commitment.
